We celebrated our seventh birthday with the “Share Your Travel Story” campaign. We received a lot of great stories. But we will share with you the three best stories that came to us.

Hills are Alive

Many might this it’s interesting or perhaps just curious or even odd — that 4 grown women would fly 3000 miles across the country to attend an outdoor movie singalong, but this wasn’t just ANY mundane, boring event. This was the Sound of Music Singalong at the Hollywood Bowl in bustling Los Angeles, a show that’s become a local favorite and has garnered a cult-like following.

We four east coast-based sisters bought our event tickets months in advance for this annual sold-out extravaganza, and we booked our travel to ensure that we would be in LA well in advance of our anticipated event. On the day of the event, we carefully donned our costumes and hopped in our Wisecars rental. Our car proved lucky as we found a great parking spot at the venue, making it easy and convenient for us to carry in our pre-show picnic to share with our LA-based friends. (see our photo!)

On this beautiful Saturday evening, we enjoyed our picnic and then we found our way to our seats to watch the costume contest that always precedes the showing of The Sound of Music on the Bowl’s giant video screen. Then, as the twilight started to descend upon us, the opening strains of the movie’s music reverberated through the Bowl, to an audience hushed in anticipation. As the music began to swell, the audience roared a cheer in unison. We joined in the singing, “The hills are alive, with the sound of muuuusicccc….”. Try to Imagine 18,000 people–young and old, male and female, from all ages and stages and walks of life–singing and swaying in unison under a glorious full moon.

A night like this, I will never forget.

Deal in Paradise!

When my wife and I were deciding to make a last-minute trip to Kauai during the pandemic summer of 2021, we were disappointed to learn that rental cars were going to be an absolute hassle to rent, not to mention PRICEY. So much so in fact that we were considering canceling the trip altogether. Luckily though that all changed when I found Wisecars.

I was shocked when I ended up getting quoted by Wisecars for an 8-day rental costing in the $ 500s for a week when I was previously quoted at $800–1100 previously by other companies! This all seemed too good to be true, but it wasn’t at all. To make it even better, I was going to get a very nice, newer, fuel-efficient sedan for my wife and me to travel the island with when other rentals, even local ones, were only offering real old beaters (not surprising for the islands but not for the prices they had them). Even more surprising was that they had a convertible mustang for slightly cheaper, but I decided to save gas with the prices of fuel. All this said I booked it with a little hesitancy but figured I’d give it a shot since I hadn’t used them before.

Right before the trip, I got notified by my airline that my flight was going to change just enough to mess up my rental pickup time. A little worried I contacted Wisecars right away and the customer service was kind and went ahead and fixed my time with the rental yard without any hassle for me! Man, it was easy, way more convenient than having to deal with other rental companies directly like I’ve had to do in the past.

Long story short, the trip went without a hitch and the money we saved ended up allowing us a much more incredible time to spend in other areas such as meals and experiences. The rental yard had our reservation in place and the information was precise (something I admittedly was worried about). I ended up with the car I was told I had reserved and was glad because it made it up to the high elevation Kapaa state park like a champ without issue and saved us so much in gas, I’m not sure if the older cars would have done the same. I stand by Wisecars for keeping your worries at bay.

I’m incredibly grateful I found Wisecars, for their convenient prices and customer service, and am planning on using them every time from now on. Thank you for making my wife and I’s trip to the islands a wonderful stress-free time!

4 days, 2 friends, and 3 parks…

Once upon a time, two friends planned a road trip to Utah to get some much-needed rest and relaxation, while visiting 3 of the big 5 National Parks. They thought they hit the jackpot as Wisecars treated them to a brand new 2022 Jeep Compass when they thought they were getting a Yaris all along. They knew at this moment the trip was going to be GOOD! They drove from Las Vegas to Zion in style.

Thelma and Louise laughed, talked, and caught up along the way. They hiked, biked, and hiked some more while at Zion. They then went from Zion to Bryce and stumbled upon a western show and a snowstorm. Bryce was nice but it was time to hit up their last stop…. Good ol’ Irene (yes they named their car) yet again managed to get them safely to another park. Arches National Park brought sunshine and sand. Much to their dismay, it was time to head home. They rejoiced in the memories made. Cheers to good friends, Irene (the Jeep compass), and sore legs!
